The fall is here again and the cold weather is biting at the door
only the color of the leaves to brighten us up as winter approaches.
This part of the Raritan River was full of dumped garbage a few years ago, but the city and volunteers took out all the old tires and garbage people had been throwing into the river. They put in these fountains and built a park along the edges, it’s now a lovely place to go sit and eat your lunch thanks to all the volunteers who helped clean it up.

A newly beautiful place Mary, the temperature here has plunged to the low 80’s, I think we’ll survive the winter.

Beautiful reflections, stunning color, love that fountain! It must be wonderful to walk here! Dee
Thanks Diane, its so nice now compared to what it use to be with all the garbage gone. The birds have even come back, I’ve seen blue herons, egrets and loones all hanging out there.

Mmmm, those rich fall colors are reflected so beautifully. It’s gratifying to know the success story for cleansing this river. What a delightful place to sit and ponder Nature’s wonders.
Thanks Whalegeek, yes it’s amazing what can be done if people set their minds to it. For many years I’ve belonged to an organization here in the states called Clearwater. They highlight the problems of people dumping waste in our rivers and encourage locals to get involved in cleaning up the rivers. Hard to believe someone would dump garbage in such a nice river, but they do..

We had an ice storm on the 13th but it is almost 80 today. We are having an Indian summer. It won’t last much longer, though. xo
We even had a drop of snow here in NJ believe it or not (so early for us) they say it’s going to be a bad winter but I guess everything is relative!
