I had one of these on my front porch when we lived near Tampa. Great capture, Mary. i can’t imagine having them by the pool.

  • Thanks Lori, it wasn’t my pool but even so.. I use to have to watch when I got close to a pond in SC almost step right on one once shooting bird pictures. Lucky he scooted away into the pond.

great capture mary. they are ugly creatures we have crocodiles in oz they have longer snouts they make my skin crawl

  • Thanks Cazz, I think crocodiles are more agressive but still in all not something you want to get close to.

Single trouble is bad enough, but double trouble…fascinating creatures.

  • Yes, if you remember they can run on land for short spirts at 40mph and if they want I’ve heard tales of them jumping in a boat.. So a honest respect for them is always wise…

HOLY ALLIGATOR SKIN!! Double Trouble for sure……..and I’m thinking of moving to Florida…yikes!! But of course……….like any good photographer, you didn’t run away screaming, you ran for your camera! Great shot, Mary!

Laughing, yes if you move south you must consider the wildlife (protected by law). I was on an island with them 17 miles out into the ocean. I use to think what if a hurricane came took out the bridge (which it has done) and I’m left swimming with Alligators! Now that’s a Yikes!
