  • Rajdev D

    Rajdev D

Great shot, it must have been hard to do it handheld….isn’t it?

  • Mary Campbell

    Mary Campbell

Thanks Rajdev, I hand hold all my bird shots. I find it difficult to track them with a tripod, which you really need to do with birds as they move so quickly. Key is set the camera to use a fast shutter speed. My camera also has a function that focuses last moment before the shot, sort of a tracking focus feature. It also helps. This isn’t to say I don’t occassionally get a blur but 9 times out of 10 it works well. Although I think alot of it is just what your use to. I own 3 tripods and a monopod but when I’m in the field I have to admit I rarely use them.
