Gingerbread Houses

The NJ shore town of Ocean Grove is full of these gingerbread house, so common in the 20’s. They are having a revival as people buy them and fix them up to their colorful past. Two blocks from the Ocean doesn’t hurt their value either..

Gingerbread Houses belongs to the following groups:

Happy Haven, Live, Love, Dream, United States and Vibrant and Vivid Color

I think so, but so hard to maintain, especially near the ocean and made of wood (all that painting)..

I think so too, so many doll houses were modeled after them here in the states, they take on that characteristic.

Each house was built by an artisan and no two are alike, how different from how we build our houses today. The light was nice but actually it was late afternoon, similar I guess to early morning. It does glow the same.
