Gingerbread Houses
The NJ shore town of Ocean Grove is full of these gingerbread house, so common in the 20’s. They are having a revival as people buy them and fix them up to their colorful past. Two blocks from the Ocean doesn’t hurt their value either..

i remember these kind of houses from when I was a boy on the east coast of usa…but they were not 2 miles from the beach….nice capture and background story.

I think so, but so hard to maintain, especially near the ocean and made of wood (all that painting)..

No it’s 2 blocks from the beach.. did I say miles I ment blocks.. There are alot of them especially in Cape May.. the home of gingerbread..

I think so too, so many doll houses were modeled after them here in the states, they take on that characteristic.

Each house was built by an artisan and no two are alike, how different from how we build our houses today. The light was nice but actually it was late afternoon, similar I guess to early morning. It does glow the same.

Yes, the time to buy these houses near the NJ shore was 30 years ago.. now any property that close to the beach has a big pricetag even fixer uper’s.
