Tulips are in full bloom at the moment and I am trying to figure out the best composition. I love them coming up from the bottom of the page..but done that…I like a macro and haven’t tried that yet…I think composition is one of the hardest part of painting. It is so important to have the right placement on the page, your darkest dark beside your lightest light to make an impact and on it goes..

I have been told to put odd numbers of flowers in your composition, and I think that is best. Backgrounds seem to be the bug for alot of people.. I don’t mind doing backgrounds. I found Arleta Pech’s dark backgrounds really make an impact and I do find I use them alot.

Do you all do thumbnails? I am very bad at doing that but it probably is a good idea.
