Shot in early April in Ottawa, Canada while on a walk.
The trees and ground were still quite barren but the bark on this tree caught my eye in the late afternoon light.

Tech note: This is a HDR composite of two frames about 1EV apart, shot handheld and processed with Hugin for registration. Photoshop CS2 was used for HDR local adaptive tone mapping and some colour enhancement.

Max is a semi-retired 60+ boomer science guy, currently living in Ottawa, Canada’s capital. Growing up with photography and art in his family, he was self-taught ever since he developed his own films at the age of 13. “I do it for the sheer joy of creating an image regardless of whether it pleases, stuns or provokes”, he says. He likes to experiment and is currently exploring pinhole, Infra-red, panoramic, and high dynamic range photography.
