Even in Starkness There is Beauty by

A duotone sepia study of a stand of deciduous trees after the last of the leaves have fallen in late autumn. The starkness of the scene catches the eye and contrasts with the green pine in the background and red leaves on the forest floor. Rendered using a red filter and duo-toned to increase the dramatic effect of the scene.

Location: near Pinhey Swamp Conservation area, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
HDR: 3 frames

Max is a semi-retired 60+ boomer science guy, currently living in Ottawa, Canada’s capital. Growing up with photography and art in his family, he was self-taught ever since he developed his own films at the age of 13. “I do it for the sheer joy of creating an image regardless of whether it pleases, stuns or provokes”, he says. He likes to experiment and is currently exploring pinhole, Infra-red, panoramic, and high dynamic range photography.

Thank you all. Sometimes you have to look at the world in B&W (or sepia in this case).
