A beautiful shot of a maple trees in the fall with the contrasting sky above. Taken in true Infrared to highlight the foliage and contrast the sky. The leaves were a bright yellow. Rendered as a duo-tone.

Location: Gatineau Park, Quebec, Canada.

Canon G2 with Infrared R72 filter,
HDR , 3 frames, bracketed., processed with Photoshop CS3

Max is a semi-retired 60+ boomer science guy, currently living in Ottawa, Canada’s capital. Growing up with photography and art in his family, he was self-taught ever since he developed his own films at the age of 13. “I do it for the sheer joy of creating an image regardless of whether it pleases, stuns or provokes”, he says. He likes to experiment and is currently exploring pinhole, Infra-red, panoramic, and high dynamic range photography.

    WOW…this is so simple, but has to be one of my favorite IR pictures ever! :) what do you mean, though, by ‘true infrared’?

    What I meant was that its not a photoshop synthetic manipulation. Its recorded with infrared using a filter to block out visible light.
