I have been working as an artist for 18 years. Completing a BA in Graphic Design in 1992 at Monash University.
In the past 10 years I’ve developed my digital artworks working as an artist in residence for the city of Darebin in 2006 where I worked with local High Schools to complete a digital banner for the Singapore Commonwealth Games team.
I went on from there to become a semi finalist in the Signature of Sydney art prize.
April 2008 I had my first showing of all the artworks which I have been working on for over the past 10 years and finally have a collection of works which now demonstrate my overall development.
I began in the early 90’s as a acrylic collage artist and explored many aspects of personal politics.

My personal relationships with Aboriginal women influenced my artworks as their issues showed me how misguided and manipulated truth and information can become with many issues relating to community.

This was an extremely rich period of my life journey. Demonstrating the importance of not just looking at issues on face value or based on fear, but to be prepared to listen to find a greater understanding.

The knowledge I gained through the Aboriginal Community adds a completely different dimension to aspects of my artwork. These include land protection and the environment , spiritual aspects and a greater understanding that there are many more aspects to situations then first meets the eye.

My decision to move to a regional area was not to me a fully thought out move.
It was in many ways a spontaneous desire just to get out of the City. I thought I would be able to live comfortably with the environment and the bush.

I am interested in my ability to adapt and find peace of mind in a rural community. There is never any question to me about the beauty of the environment and I find peace along the Goulburn River. My eyes also marveled at the drought landscape and how that drought brought out the fragility and an aspect of fear for the future.

I took a sequence of photographs form the landscape and water along the Goulburn River 2007. I began to see images which directly reflect from water to landscape. To an extent like a mirror relationship.

The increasing fear and conflict between rural and urban demands on water and examination of the immediate local environment are the inspiration for my exhibition artworks.

On creation of these artworks I will achieve a life long pursuit to be able to produce a body of work at the caliber to which I believe and an audience will be stimulated and challenged on many levels.
.
The creation of the artworks will take place at my home address in Seymour.

Research for concepts including photography , sketches or acrylics will use surrounding landscapes and elements in Seymour and surrounding towns in Shire of Mitchell and of the Strathbogie region.
