Review of the Nikon D3100

I recently bought a Nikon D 3100 and put it through its paces to see if it was really worth the money. I still have some more work to do but for shooting with 3 lenses once with the D3100 and once with the D40. The clear winner was the D40. Even at 6 mega pixels the D40 has much sharper image as the D3100 at 14 mega pixels. The video capture of the D3100 is nice but if I wanted a camcorder I would buy one.

Pros
One button auto focus with 11 points.
Light weight
Has Video function
The shutter is quiet
The lenses are compatible with your lenses for the D40
It has a higher ISO range than the D40.
Ok that is all I can say nice about this camera

Con
For 700 Dollars you think Nikon could make a camera that can take a photo of a strait line. Nope at 1:1 it is soft as hell.

The Battery is not compa…

Rule of Thirds

The “Rule of Thirds” is a visual rule on photos and art. If you take your photo and fold it in three equal parts in both directions what you end up with is two lines horizontaly and two vertical. These line are areas in the work that the eye find more dramatic. The place were the lines intersect are focal points. The eye find the four points most dramatic. When shooting photos or painting art keeping these points and site lines you can make better images than keeping everything centered.

The bride photographed in this is lined up with the left sight line. The eye focuse on her first then follows the blinds off the photo. Because subject is on the sight line the viewers eye stops on her. Had the photographer had her in the center of the photo the viewer could glance ov…

Photoshop Work

Here is my recent portrait that I done of my wife. I will be going over the modifications that I did on it. The original was taken at a nature trail in the morning at 9 a.m. in shaded light. I used a fill flash that gave me some highlights.

The second image is the photoshoped Image in work. Look at the two images. The mole was removed by using the clone stamp. After using the clone stamp I used the smudge tool to smooth in the edges. I also used the adjust color for skin tone to get the white balance. I used the white of the eye as the source for skin-tone. Then I used the select tool to outline the Iris and lips. Then sharpened tool to get an accent on the eyes and lips. There were some freckles that I cloned out and some red blemishes on the chin that were removed. The clon…

Orphan works bill 2

Dear Mr. Foster:

Thank you for contacting me regarding the Shawn Bentley Orphan Works Act of 2008 (S. 2913). I appreciate having the benefit of your comments on this matter.

As you know, S. 2913 was introduced in the Senate on April 24, 2008. This legislation provides a limitation on judicial remedies in copyright infringement cases involving “orphan works”—copyrighted works whose owners may be impossible to identify and locate. I strongly believe that we must protect the intellectual property rights of the authors, journalists, and artists who, through their creative pursuits, benefit all Americans. I also understand that the issue of “orphan works” presents a real problem to both content creators and to content users. Potential users of “orphan works”—such as the libraries a…

Orphan works bill

Here is the respons I got today from my congressman it has the house bill number and his e-mail “hint hint”. I don’t like how this reads do you

Dear Mr. Foster:

Thank you for contacting me regarding H.R. 5889, the Orphan Works Act of 2008. I appreciate hearing your views on this legislation.

As you may know, Congressman Howard Berman (D-California) introduced H.R. 5889 on April 24, 2008. If passed, this legislation would limit the remedies in a civil action brought for copyright infringement in an orphan work if it can be proved that: (1) the infringer performed a reasonably diligent search to locate the copyright owner before using the work; (2) a Notice of Use was filed with the Register of Copyrights before the work was used; and (3) the infringing use of the work pr…

“Queen of the Dead”

In the darkest region of my soul there is someone watching over me. It guide me through my destiny as though its not mine to decide but theirs. Building my image into what it wants; what it needs. I try to fight this thing; this person but it still there burred in my unconscious soul. All ways starring at me. What dose it want? How do I free myself from it. I go about my business and I see him. He is in front of me. His hands rip at my body I can’t scream. He abuses me in unthinkable ways. Then a sharp pain, I grab my stomach, with sticky blood in my hands I realized. The man in the back of my soul is the one who killed me.
