This two-shot filmstrip is from 2 photos taken at the Airshows DownUnder International Airshow held at Avalon Airport, between Geelong and Melbourne, Victoria, Australia in 2009.
The photos were taken with a Nikon D70 camera fitted with a Tamron AF Aspherical LD DiII SP 11-18mm 1:4.5-5.6 [IF] zoom lens.
The photos were tweaked using Gimp software – brightness/contrast tool and sharpening filter and combined as a filmstrip also using Gimp. Titling made using Text Tool, Scale Tool and placed using Move Tool.
The first Douglas DC3 Dakota is the original aircraft from Trans Australia Airlines (TAA), the other C47 Dakota is an ex- Royal Australian Air Force – Aircraft Research and Development Unit (ARDU) aircraft now operated on the Australian civil register by the Historic Aircraft Restoration Society (HARS) still in its RAAF marking and the big jet in the background is the Boeing 767 of the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF)
