The Australian band “Cold Chisel” were one of the major bands in Australia in the 1970s and 1980s. They are due to have a reformation concert very shortly – this weekend, I think.

This photo was taken at a free concert put on by Sydney radio station 2JJ (then 1540 on the AM band – nowdays they are 2JJJ and are on the FM band at 105.7). 2JJ was the Australian Broadcasting Commission’s rock station set up in the early 1970s.

This free concert was held at St Leonards Park, North Sydney, New South Wales, Australia on 28 May 1978. Also on the bill at this concert was: “Michael, Zef & Ezra” (a man and his two young sons) and “Angels” (another big Australian band from this era).

The photo was taken with an Asahi Pentax SPII camera. It shows the guitarist and main songwriter, Ian Moss, with frontman singer, Jimmy Barnes, behind to his right.

The photo was tweaked using Gimp software – select/copy/paste tools to remove some imperfections.
