The Melton Airshow was held to celebrate the centenary of the first recognised powered flight in Australia.
The first flight was flown by legendary US escapologist, Harry Houdini, and took place at nearby Diggers Rest.
The Airshow was held at Melton Airfield, Melton, Victoria, Australia on 20 March 2010.
The aircraft in this photo is an Avro Cadet trainer and was one performing at the airshow. It is in its World War Two RAAF camouflage as seen after hostilities with Japan commenced. At the time of the airshow there was only one other Cadet flying in Australia.
The photo was taken with a Nikon D70 camera fitted with Tamron AF Aspherical XR Di LD [IF] 28-300mm 1:3.5-6.3 Macro zoom lens.
The photo has been tweaked using Gimp software – using select/copy/paste tools to remove some imperfections and brightness/contrast tool and sharpening filter.
