This De Havilland DH-9a is on display at the Australian War Memorial, Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia.
This was the second aircraft to fly to Australia in the 1919 air race from England to Australia. It was piloted by Ray Parer and he was accompanied by John McIntosh.
The first aircraft in the air race was a Vickers Vimy and it is located at Adelaide Airport, Adelaide, South Australia.
The photo was taken with a Nikon D70 camera fitted with a Tamron AF Aspherical LD DiII SP 11-18mm 1:4.4-5.6 [IF] zoom lens.
