The Lockheed Super Constellation of the Historic Aircraft Restoration Society (HARS) put in an appearance at the Narromine Airshow held at Narromine Airport, Narromine in western New South Wales, Australia on 29 September 2007. Nicknamed “Connie”, she is shown here during her flying display at the airshow.
The Constellation is based at the HARS homebase at Albion Park Airport, south of Wollongong, New South Wales. It had been recovered from the USA where, in its previous life, it had been a C-121 with the United States Air Force and has been converted to resemble the colours of a former QANTAS aircraft.
The photo was taken with a Nikon D70 camera fitted with a Tamron AF Aspherical XR Di LD [IF] 28-300mm 1:3.5-6.3 Macro zoom lens.
The photo has been tweaked using Gimp software – select/copy/paste tools to remove some imperfections, brightness/contrast tool and sharpening filter.
