Jaguar E-type & Auster @ Albion Park Airport by

This Jaguar E-type sports car and Auster aircraft were displayed together in a hangar at an Open Day at Albion Park Airport in 2009.

Albion Park Airport is located beside the Princes Highway at Albion Park south of Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia. It is the home base of the Historic Aircraft Restoration Society (HARS) and is home to Australia’s only flying Lockheed Super Constellation as well as three Lockheed Neptunes (one flyable) and much more.

The photo was taken with a Nikon D70 camera fitted with a Tamron Aspherical LD DiII SP AF 11-18mm 1:4.5-5.6 [IF] zoom lens.

The photo has been tweaked using Gimp software – using brightness/contrast tool.

Have you got any pics of the Super Connie??? I would love to see her again

  • I think I have one on my Redbubble site. I’ll check – if not I’ll find one and put it there. I have plenty to select from.
Have you been to HARS at Albion Park. I missed their Open Day this year due to a work commitment but I think they seem to have them once a year.
Might be worth checking their website for next year’s date if you haven’t been there yet.

  • Joe, I checked my site. There are currently three shot there that include the Connie although two include it in the background. The other shot is a shot taken at the Night Alight airshow at the Avalon Airshow some years ago. Maybe not quite what you wanted. I will put a clearer shot on the site.

  • Joe, there are also a couple of my t-shirt designs that include the Connie.

  • Joe, I’ve put a couple of new shots of the Connie on Redbubble – I hope you find them of interest.
