Ron King of the Foreday Riders blues band stands in front of the microphone with harmonica in hand at the “Boogie Uproar” concert held at the Paddington Town Hall in the inner eastern Sydney suburb of Paddington, New South Wales, Australia on 28 May 1976.
I was invited to the concert by Peter Doyle (not the prominent Sydney restauranteur) who I worked with in a federal government department in Sydney city. He put me onto new music at the time including Bob Marley and Little Feat but I most remember him for an incident at our work when he dropped a cigarette butt (smoking was at that time still permitted in federal government buildings) into a bin beside his desk and set it on fire. I was able to extinguish it by placing a large book known as the tender register over the top of the bin.
