Jim Wickham of Tyabb, Victoria brought his new-build Yak-9 to the Melton Airshow to perform to celebrate the first powered flight in Australia.

The first flight was made at nearby Diggers Rest by the famous escapologist Harry Houdini.

The photo was taken with a Nikon D70 camera fitted with a Sigma 50-500mm 1:4-6.3 APO DG HSM zoom lens.

The photo has been tweaked using Gimp software – using copy/paste to remove some imperfections and brightness/contrast tool and sharpening filter.
