The Gloster Meteor was used by the Royal Australian Air Force in the Korean War – primarily in the ground attack role.
The Meteor in this design is owned and flown by the Temora Aviation Museum in the colours of an RAAF machine that shot down a North Korean Mig-15 during that conflict.
In fact it is an ex Royal Air Force machine that was bought from there by the Temora Museum.
The design was made using Gimp software.
The titling was made using the Text tool and was colour-filled using Colour Gradient tool. The “Blue Note” titles also had the Drop Shadow filter applied to them. “Blue Note” is a reference to the sound of the Meteor’s engines.
The Meteor image was taken from a photo I had taken (with a Nikon D70 camera) and was isolated from the photo using Rectangular Selection tool and the background changed to transparent using Colour To Alpha tool. It was then overlaid over the titling.
