This sculpture of a pelican is located on the waterfront at Ballina, New South Wales, Australia. It is designed to rotate into the wind.

The photo was taken with a Nikon D70 camera fitted with a Tamron AF Aspherical XR Di LD [IF] 28-300mm 1:3.5-6.3 Macro zoom lens.

    I had to read your description to find out where this was taken as I knew I had seen it in my travels. A great photograph that has come up lovely. Sandy

  • Thanks for your appreciation Sandra. You may remember that it was one of several creatures atop poles – including some fish sculptures. There was also an eagle’s nest atop a communication tower in the town – with real eagles – not sculptures.
