This privately-owned civil-registered North American Harvard/Texan World War Two vintage trainer gave some aerobatic performances at the 2011 Barossa Air Show held at an airfield in the wine-making district of the Barossa Valley, out of Adelaide, South Australia.
It is shown here during one of those performances – inverted and using its smoke system. Note: how the smoke trail has been chopped into a wavy pattern as the propeller slipstream has interupted the air flow.
The photo was taken with a hand-held Nikon D70 camera fitted with a Sigma EX 50-500mm 1:4-6.3 APO DG HSM zoom lens.
The photo was tweaked using Gimp software – select/copy/paste tools to remove some imperfection and brightness/contrast tool and sharpening filter.
