A simple piece quickly put together for ravenritings on LiveJournal, as she has a sekrit projekt!

I’ve not delved too far into art without outlines and I like to think of this as dipping my toes into the water again.

So, as quoth by the infamous Poe and his black harbinger foe:

I find myself working in a completely different method without cartoon outlining, so I’m glad you like the experiment.

I love the 3 cell idea. It gives a dramatic zoom in feel on the eye. As a fellow cartoonist I also really struggle with the whole no outline thing, so well done with this it looks great!

Any insiration from Edgar Allen Poe?? that is one of my favorite poems of all time!!...great color blue..very rich..love the breaking…calls for attention!...the basic three color makes it seem more street like…you know…I can imagine someone spray-painting something like this!

Very evocative stuff – really sets the mood with a economical style (love the little higlight in the raven’s eye in panel 3 – great touch). Would look pretty cool on a black tee, methinks.

It was actually made so very stripped back by request for a friend’s online ‘zine that utilised only those colours!
I have had a stuffed raven that I called Poe, so perhaps, yeah, a little Poe influence.
