possibly premature as we have no group yet.. but POS is a keen and hyper fellow – he makes my endevours seem like im a couch potato. seriously he is manic and will get things done..
im just waiting for the redbubble team to give me a group. we got an avatar and everyhing..

You are much too kind MT, I would never have embarked on this without you. And it is obvious that you and the knowledge you have about the bub, music and video is something I could not have done without.
So please don’t give me to much honor and for the sake of all good, take some for yourself, you have already more than deserved it.

And we must not forget we are totally dependent on help from our friends and colleagues to get this baby to grow, crawl, walk and then finally RUN!

ohh your art might work well.. just have to wait and see..

imagine a computer screen,..
image the screen showed the first panel of a comic book strip.. if theres any lines or words we hope to have a voice actor speak the words.. then using some fancy techniques (simliar perhaps to what i do with the video montages we make) we can go to panel 2 of the strip.. and so on..
hopefully we will be able to have motion of a sorts, if i can sorta cut out images and move em around – (think a cannon ball)..
and music of course..

That is a wrong assumption Karin I just checked your art it could absolutely be a part of our quest.
Your art is very cool, and I know we can use it.
There is not one particular sort of art, photo, writing ore expertise we seek.
What we seek is to make it as versatile, divers and varied as we can get it without ruining the consept.
So if you don’t produce traditional comic material, yu are actually in a better position to join than if not…

Everybody can play, just take contact and we’ll sign you up every single one of you.
If (and I say if) we make money, we share between all participants, I won’t hold back money for credits and shit like that ….we share, and someone else can handle the money…I hate money I am an anarchist.
So we need someone with experience in this matter too.
We need writers first and foremost then we need art, inking, coloreing, photo manipulators, models and a lot more.
We’ll get back to that later.

what we need is a method of transferring artwork from A to B.
this is something we will need to work out along with o so much more.
we dont pretend to have a complete, finished package here.
We dont pretend this will be easy.
But it will be rewarding, even if there is no finances involved…

as for money, i love money, cos i have none. it would solve heaps of insoluble issues for me (no im not in debt)... studio would be nice, VJAMM, ........only those who have money can say its not important.

Hi MT and POS,

It sounds very interesting and has a lot of potential. Do you know that Adobe Flash ( Formerly Macromedia Flash ) is the perfect software to achieve your goal. You can create animated image galleries with it that will be viewable on roughly 95 % of computers ( or more ), and it works on Apple Mac or Windows operating systems. Have you seen my image Gallery in the Photography pages of my own web site. It’s made in Flash. But you can fill the whole of the web browser if you want to and make the Gallery a full page deal ! The comic strip thing can be done in Flash and the finished file would be a .swf file which is very easily coded into a web page for all to see.

If I understand you correctly Mr Teeth, then to solve that ” what we need is a method of transferring artwork from A to B ” problem you need FTP software. I use ” SmartFTP Client ” – it’s freeware, but for RB you will have to pay a small fee ( about $ 40 ) to buy a commercial license. I have used it for 18 months to update my own web site and it always works, no hassles.

Please contact me if you want to discuss any of this stuff – I’ll give you stacks more detail.

If we have to fit in all the 50k members on the bub….we’ll do it.

This is just so cool.
MT an I, are now as I write this, in the process of making a teaser and information film that we will put up for all to see, and the group is soon ready so that we can start organizing this show right away.

I am feeling like a child again, both this and my band making a new record this summer is nearly too much good for an old man.
Redbubble and you guys are a big part of that happiness :-)

dude ! sounds good. however regarding the FTP software – THIS IS NOT OFFICIALLY ASOCIATED WITH REDBUBBLE.
we will have a redbubble group to facilitate the process, but we are not part of their team, company or contracted to them.
we could just as easily set up a myspace page and do the same thing… its the community here we are interested in.. and the fact that redbubble wont pay me for anything

I just got back from another big skate session – I’m getting really keen again ! That explains my delayed response !

I have used the FTP software for free for the last 18 months or so, and that’s legal and O.K with the company that developed it. One day I will pay about $ 40 to get a license to use it for commercial reasons – I want to sell digital art software on my own web site eventually.

But it just occured to me now that you may not even need FTP software. If you set up an account on RedBubble or on MySpace, when you upload your art and files to the server that server is probably using FTP software to complete the upload anyway. All automated – just tell the server where the files are you want to upload and it just takes care of the tech stuff for you. Child’s play by definition !
