Titled: “75….”
Straight after this shot a monster wave nearly got me…..completely unexpectedly!!
The west coast is deadly like that….you need eyes in the back of your two heads, and if you don’t, at least have a lookout…and plan an escape route that allows for a very quick grab of tripod/camera gear, and gives you time to get up and out of the way…fast! Don’t ever get too clever, never trust the sea, and have appropriate insurance if you ignore that advice!
On a shoot with Dean Hohn at the Edge of the World, Arthur River mouth….wonderful atmosphere, and stunning sea….plus enormous waves that threatened to wipe me out….the infamous number 75!!

Canon 5D3, 17mm, F16 at 1/6th sec, ISO 100, GNDS…..heart in mouth, no where to go, 2 metre wave appeared from literally nowhere…wet socks, but not from seawater….lol
