Nelson River, Tarkine Wilderness, Tasmania, Australias island state…..
The Nelson, stained the colour of tea, empties into the sea….running over a wide delta of quicksand and rocks, the tea coloured waters blend into the broody dark blue waters of the sea, the tidal patterns creating these and other odd shapes on the river bottom….

Canon 5D Mk II, 17 to 40mm lens, at 20mm,
1.3 secs at F16, ISO 50, one ND grad filter……
…..this is pre wet-boots, and was feeling quite chuffed that my socks were warm, and dry……..
……but not for long……..

Great work considering the 1.3sec. exposure and I know that tripod sinking feeling in this type of environment. Fantastic textures and love how the fg dominates the shot with the distant clouds and horizon minimized…Great work as always Murph..

  • haha…..a man who knows the terrain!!…..yeah, don’t worry, I was watching the legs…..and funnily enough, they stayed still….but my feet sank, quick!! Weird, hey??

Nature is amazing with the way she creates patterns and scenes and then she goes and throws beautiful light around. Well spotted and shot David. Brilliant.

  • She caste an amazing Tassy light, everywhere! Light down here, especially in the early hours, is just superb……crisp, clear, unfettered, perfect….what else do you want?
