Artist's Description

The convict barracks of Highfield, Stanley, Tasmania (Australias island state)…….looking out over the easterly approach to the harbour of Stanley. Constructed by convicts around 1824, this structure housed 41 of the poor sods…..who sometimes did not much more than to steal a loaf of bread, or to call the King a sod in front of the wrong person……
Anyhow, most Australians descended from these people, crooks or not, so they can’t have been too bad…..

Canon 5D Mk II

dash of contrast, sepia saturation
…..another one of those near-death experiences from being prone in the middle of the road, sans tripod, as the morning workers head to the abalone farm, down the road!!
…..carhorns at 5:30am are really loud!!
