    Great abstract David, but perhaps some of your viewers are wondering about “kangeroo tails”. lol

    Adds to the mystery though!
    They are a spiky shrub, and the spines are myriad, shooting from the centre. The kangaroo tail is the flowering stem that comes out later in the year, which looks like a….......you guessed it!!
