Adjacent to Dog Trap Road, Bacchus Marsh (near Rock Top).Taken at about 4.30pm on 25 June 09.
alkemade, bacchus marsh, railway, sunset, tracks
What a fabulous glint on those tracks, perfect lead in lines and oh my-is that the Sun, in the middle of winter, what’s going on?
don’t be fooled by the reddish glow, RoyB. It was freeeeeezing even though only 4.30pm! This area is frequented by wedge tailed eagles and other huge birds of prey. We saw a whopper but he flew off too quickly and it was getting dark by then. The area’s windswept too, I’d say. (One of my fave places in the whole area … my big brother and I used to chase trains up there often just after he got his licence.)

thanks Shoaib .It was an unexpected bonus for our afternoon drive. :o)
thanks PhotoAmbiance. Enjoyed the afternoon doing these immensely.
An absolutely wonderful image Anne. I love how the tracks fade out in to the dark at the bottom – and that glint. Just great..
it’s great to capture a moment in time, isn’t it Andrew!!! A few moments later and it was gone.
nice work Anne
thank you Jim. :o))
Gorgeous shot Anne!! THIS, shouls be what our flag looks like – the true colours of our country :)
and our national brew too. :o)I’m rather fond of umber and amber.
It’s far too late to be having that bright light assaulting my delicate wee sleep deprived pupils :)
oh but it was so early, not even close to evening. Shortest day or close to it I think. (perhaps you need some shades)
Damn it, I looked again and it still hurt. I can’t talk to you anymore. You’ve gone and doe it this time Anne.
that’s it then. I’m putting away the camera and going back to drawing Grim!
Thank you Sweet.I.When I see things like this and they stick around just long enough for me to press the shutter I feel really privileged. It was such a cold, cold afternoon and the heater in the car was on full to keep us from freezing. But it was worth it.
