Hi Anna, I used to grow some of these plants when I had my Carnivorous Plant nursery. I believe they are an Amorphophallus or “Voodo Plant”. How did you cope with the incredible smell of rotting meat which they give off for a couple of days? This attracts flies which do the pollinating. I wish I still had one and am envious of you owning one of these curious plants. All the best Ian

  • Thank you Ian, as it was outside the smell was not too bad, however I wantede to see the root system, but all I found was a thing like a potato not a corm etc, and a few spidery roots. I did grow another in a pot from the hard seed like thing that develops on the leaf. Will see how it develops. "hmmmm Voodo plant, hope its not bad luck.

what a strange flower! nice and original ;)

  • Thank you so much, I have had this plant for about 4 years and this was the first time it had flowered. This year it is just a stalk with leaves on top.
