    And it’s huge…I have done a painting of one, but it’s orange…it’s more about the leaves, but I put the flower in for contrast…I have never seen one that looked like this, not even on the net till now…it must be very rare..you should notify Kew Gardens in England…

    I don’t think it’s rare around Newcastle area, some folk here have them in their gardens and they seem to come out of a plant that looks like a small banana tree, maybe they only grow in the subtropics. Thanks for the suggestion

    sooo beautiful!!! it reminds me of a Bird of Paradise, that grows here in Florida

    Thank you so much, the leaves do look like a giant bird of paradise plant but I had never seen in in flower before either
