Wonderful work Martin, love the music too.

I think this was the first time I ever heard Rod Stewart sing. PLJ was formed buy two brits in Australia in 1965 but in 1966 one of them was deported. The group continued until finally breaking up in January 1968. However, several members of the group travelled to the UK and reformed PLJ in October 1968. David Bentley the lead singer decided that his voice wasn’t right for this number. Rod was a session singer at the time and was brought in to sing this and several other numbers. John Peel recorded In a Broken Dream in 1969 but it wasn’t release in 1970 when it flopped. It was rerelease in 1972 and went o #3 in the UK singles chart. It went on to become somewhat of a classic.
