Oh, how I loved to run behind the little horse and carriage that delivered our milk in can’s like these! I’m not that old but in the 1970’s we still got our milk in these. Beautiful and nostalgic!
I still have an old milk can that my father-in-law made into a little stool for the kids to sit on at the table – he put a small tractor seat on the lid. That was more than 30 years ago! This also brings back memories! Love it Mugsy!
No Vickie, it’s a photograph…. I just pumped the contrast a bit. And thanks to all for the comments. These milk cans were purchased from Noah at a garage sale on Mount Ararat. (O.K…... I’m exaggerating, but they’re almost that old!)
Excellent Image, Mugsy !!! Well composed , your lighting is superb and add character and depth and I really like the contrasts in the shiny cans to the dull floor and the colours against the flat tone of the floor !!
I do not know why it still amazes me that South Africa used milk cans, cream cans the same as in Australia. I loved this photo and enjoyed roaming around your rb site. Col, my husband, used to paint on old milk cans just like these, the tourists loved them, and bought quite a few. They were clean and anti rusted first. Regards, Heather, Cols wife secretary, bubbler etc.

As always, great work, Mugsy. The almost hard edged detail is a change from you more recent work.
