Mat Robinson

I grew up in Richmond, North Yorkshire, before going to study Physics & Astrophysics at the University of York where I recently gained a first class Mphys degree. I am now heading to Sheffield to study for 4 more years in order to gain a PhD in Cosmology.

My interest in photography came about for a number of reasons, from my Mum’s continuous pointing out of the beauty of my surroundings to a basic search for understanding them. I am fortunate to have lived in/near the Yorkshire Dales all my life so I have always had many opportunities to explore this amazing part of the world

I am yet to really develop any specific interests within photography – the majority of my work is based around landscapes but at the moment I am branching out to photographing people too which is a whole new challenge.
