that dead space enveloping your senses
that numbness for simple understanding
that complexity retarding reflection
that awful tiredness controlling everything
that misty drowse clouding that you see
that inability to protect yourself minutely
that that makes survival a thing of dreams
that ridiculous unreality feeling of invincibility
that dread in knowledge of fragile mortality
that total incomprehension in receiving wounding
that blase passing of deaths near hand
that uncaring in mans bloody carnage creation
that poison shroud strangling your normal self
that which makes the simplest thing so tragically upsetting
that total loss of time
that absorbsion in battles unholy soul reaping being
that whats left of me
that im somehow home
that i post you this here poem
that fashioned quickly hopefully rthyme
that to help me assimilate
that what i have lost
that i did
that i become
that i try here to accept
that i try here to undo
that i share with you…

Truth abounds here. if we do not drag our souls through the deepest, darkest rat infested ditches, we would never appriciate the smell of fresh, green grass; sunlight on our skin; or a tender, butterfly indicing kiss from our sweetest love. thank you for sharing your dark and light. poetry rules, doesn’t it? :) K
