happiness is a relative state of mind

Happy is a relative state of mind.
Think happy and feel happy results.
Happiness in motion needs equal
negative momentum to kill it.

So I called to order myself a pizza
and have it delivered. I was happy.

Two hours and three calls later
I hear screeching tires and a car door thump.
I stalk over and open the door.
There’s a slightly smoking junker in the
driveway and a harassed looking man on my porch
holding a food bag too small to be a pizza.
He flips open the bag on a large order of fried wings.
I glare. He gulps and mumbles a name not even close
to mine. “ Wrong house,” I snarl.
He glances down, sighs,
flips the bag closed then trots to his car.
I watch him slide in and drive away.
Happiness slithers out of me.
I close the door.
