This is "IT"

Posted about 1 month ago

I just saw Michael Jackson’s “This is It” movie, directed by Kenny Ortega. I know of Michael Jackson only as a casual fan. I went to see this movie out of curiousity, more than out of reverence. Having seen “it” I now appreciate him far more than I have in the past and will for sure go buy whatever album is for sale with the soundtrack.

Michael Jackson’s life was not a pretty fairy tale. He …

Paranormal Activity

Posted 2 months ago

I just saw this movie today, alone. I have no idea what you all have read about it, but I want to tell you it is worth seeing. It is popular with most critics, it is scary, and it is illuminating. There are ghosts and there are demons in many scary movies, but this one deals with a demon and a female it is pursuing. I got scared, I got chills, and even had tears of fear running down my face to…

A Matted Print Sale!

Posted 5 months ago

A nice stranger bought a print from me today of “Lower Yosemite Falls in a Spring Snow Storm”. I have noticed a rash of sales lately in people’s journals and it is very nice to be a part of that.

It is often discussed, how great it would be, to make money doing something you love. Well it is great, but it is also exceedingly rare unless you include all the people who “love” to make money an…

My Gallery Lately

Posted 7 months ago

As most of you know, my gallery is being flooded with new work from a vacation I just went on to Yosemite National Park. While there, we pretty much behaved as if I was a photographer first, and in need of a rest last, LOL. However I did get more rest than I am used too, as we spent the nights in a tent and often slept ten hours while it was cold and dark.

Now that I am home, I am back at …

Good News

Posted 9 months ago

Have you noticed a general malaise here and everywhere? I think the economic situation has got us all a bit down, and it has affected us all whether or not one has lost their job or not. Art seems to get produced no matter what the climate is, but a recession certainly makes it harder to sell, and harder to make, as life gets filled up with the business of living.

My good news is that the ph…

The New Calendars Rock!

Posted about 1 year ago

I recently bought a calendar from laurenrabbit and three more from my own collection of work. The quality is outstanding! The price may seem a bit high, but the ability to see many large prints of great work is really good for the money. I mention this because we photographers are not all completely happy with the way our digitized photos look on this site. They do print up very well however, a…

Credit = FIRE

Posted about 1 year ago

I have been thinking for days just what to say about the economic crisis facing the USA and soon the world. Credit was a fairly recent invention in history and easy credit even more recent. Unfortunately rich people soon realized they did not have to do much work if they just “loaned” enough people enough money. The resulting inflationary spending and speculation soon raised the value of their…

Life on Line

Posted about 1 year ago

I have been home with you all for four weeks out of the last five. Circumstances meant I did not take a vacation, work in my yard or take some photography trips. I set up my computer and submitted a few photos, and wrote a few stories. What I did do and will remember most is meet a very large and diverse group of people here at the bubble, some of these have been casual and others an intense me…

The End of the Beginning

Posted about 1 year ago

Not everybody knows that I have been home awhile nursing a lower back injury back to health. It seems I have been successful and will actually return to work next week after having had almost three weeks to just rest, go to physical therapy and hang out at the bubble. This site has matured and grown and developed a personality of it’s own, a fun place suited to my tastes and pastimes.
I have m…

It has been a big week.

Posted about 1 year ago

I have been off work for just more than a week and a half. I set up a new computer, loaded software, did some therapy for my arm, (work injury) and met and got to “know” some of the “wildest” people on the internet. It is funny that they should choose Redbubble to hang out at. I’m glad they have though. To all of you here that have made my return to my “public” life worth it, I thank you.
