Signs of the Tunnel tree
Had to walk a mile in the snow to see this tunnel tree. In my youth I am sure I drove through this in an automobile with my family. It is dead now and time has left it’s mark in many ways…

Very cool… I have only seen the B&W sketch of this but never the picture…. sad in a way… certainly this thin lived hundreds of years only to meet it’s demise by curious man

i love the frame the cutout leaves, yet the right side gives us greater context of the subject creating perfect balance. all the names and initials carved in the wood look like some Egyptian tomb. worth the hike my friend. well done.

I tried to do more than take the standard shot of this iconic tree, though I did take that one too… LOL

Tasmania has 2,000yr old trees still standing. A few 4,000 yr old Huon pines have fallen but are still sprouting!! Jesus of Nazareth would have walked the earth at the time of their developmental yrs. It amazes me how we just don’t realise the entirety of Planet Nature, Earth.

why didn`t they just go round it?
i do love your vision mark

A whole different ethic at that time. Humans are compelled to see what they can do… we are not wise enough however to see what will happen as a result of all of us doing as we please.
