Me and My Garden
I have this golden glass orb you see here and a poppy bloomed right next to it in my garden. I go down close and took a photo of us three.

I love your work. You certainly get around & you obviously stop slow down & take the time to compose a shot well. I guess that’s one advantage of using film. Well done!
Mark Ramstead
Well actually I burn film too, only a few shots ring a bell on any particular roll of film. Just the way photography is.

This is just beautiful. Have you been to the mirror project site, this photo would be perfect for there too.

I love this one! It reminds me of the cover of a book called “Peace Wars” by Vernon Vinge.

Oh, so cute, I wish to have the same glass orb in my garden…Where I can find it? can you help with link?
It is amazing what you have done…so beautiful, that image will follow me all day today, i am 100% sure.
Mark Ramstead replied
I found this in an antique shop in Temecula Ca. It was a handblown golden glass orb and for awhile the shop carried a variety of them in other colors too. I wish I had bought more because they eventually stopped and I have never seen anything quite like them again.

Absolutely STUNNING, STUNNING shot. Perfection. The color is amazing. Beautifully composed, as well. WOW. This is perfection.

Jesus – the CLARITY here is unbelievable!
Mark Ramstead replied
Clarity depends on the glass…

what a wonderful image – the world in a glass orb. and your garden must be extraordinary!
the infamous Gurdjieff once advised someone that if they wanted to learn how to selflessly love another human being, they should practice first on plants. And i find no flaw in his reasoning, if i can’t keep a geranium alive how can i expect to nurture a person?
Mark Ramstead replied
The garden is a testament to many things… My wife loves it very much and swears if we won the lottery we would not move… Devotion is underrated… in this country as well…
