Artist's Description

First Sold – 24 September 2012

Theodore Roosevelt is simply amazing. A Harvard grad who was sickly as a child, and yet, decides to live a vigorous robust life. One of the many police commissioners of New York City, he then becomes the Assistant Secretary of the Navy. When the Spanish-American War begins, he resigns… and volunteers for the Army. He leads the Rough Riders up that hill (and got a posthumous Medal of Honor). After becoming Governor of New York, he is elected as Vice President. After McKinley’s assassination Roosevelt become the youngest President of the United States. He goes on to build the Panama Canal, effectively establish the National Park System, and receives a Nobel Peace Prize.
His sense of discovery and his respect for the land make me admire him. That and because he liked to say “Bully!”.
