These two tractors, found on a farm near Lewistown, Montana, showcase for me the rich farming heritage across the treasure state. This image has been processed as an HDR image using three bracketed exposures, namely:

1) f /5.6 at 1/250 sec
2) f /5.6 at 1/1000 sec
3 f /5.6 at 1/4000 sec

Born in Montana, raised in California, I’ve been holding a camera most of my life. I particularly love photographing the grand landscapes of the Pacific Northwest.

Very engaging photo… very nice! I like the storm clouds in the background too. Quite a wide range on those shutter-speeds!

  • Thanks, Randall. Yeah, I’m still working on figuring out HDR, but I’m pleased with the way this one turned out. As for those clouds, you should have seen the weather we got to drive home through. Not fun at all—and about 300 miles of it to get back to Missoula.
