Some maple trees turn gold and some turn very red.
Another from my “fall photo marathon”, taken in Galena, Illinois. The season was very short this year! The colors are gone already but I still have more to post… the nice thing about the photos is, they don’t disappear in several days! Unlike the leaves.

The cottage is one of many vintage homes around Galena built from local limestone in the heyday of the mining era here (mid to later 1800’s).

I miss the fall colors. Back when I had all my teeth and hair, I owned a Triumph Spitfire and used to take the blue highways through the White Mountains of NH and VT with the top down. Looking up, there were more trees of color than sky with the sun flickering through as I sped along. I would get ‘color’ drunk. Those were the days! Yep! Thanks for ‘triggering’ the memories, Nadya. :-)))
