Yet another addition for my husband’s model railroad! This one’s a horse barn, as indicated by the saddle in the window (not sure it’s very visible). This one, like the others, is built from scratch ~ not a kit. There are a few others in my gallery (in addition to the ones I’ve posted recently) including ….

Nadya’s Diner

The Indian Trading Post (modeled from the remnants of the real one at Palisades Park in Illinois)

and the Texaco Station

Thought I had the train station too but it’ probably on my old computer. These are being packed away once completed, as we plan to move before the railroad is really done. Have to store them safely (anyway, it keeps the kitties out!) lol

I think the next phase is Main Street: hotel, drug store, pool hall, market, coffee shop, etc. all set in the 40’s/early 50’s. I will share them as they come along.

Outstanding! I used to have the patience (and the eyes) for doing these myself (had an extensive HO layout), but these put mine to shame.

  • This is G scale so it’s really not that tiny! On the other hand it’s not exactly big… My stuff (dollhouse scale) doesn’t work with these, the soup cans look like barrels. heh! I haven’t done any lately other than some Christmas shots with little bears (awwwwww!) but I plan to start a project for a contest soon. It will be a collaboration: he will do the outside (he promised!), then I’ll do the Fun Stuff. Guess we’ll see what happens. I did do an HO layout with my son, many years ago. That was fun. I do love model trains! And real ones, come to think of it!
