The Perils of Dimension Jumping

Marilee, I asked you not to call me during working hours! I’m a little busy at the moment. What? I can’t hear you. What? Well, they’ve got me out here in some wanky fringe continuum and - - What? Speak up. We have a bad connection! I don’t know if I’ll get home for Sunday’s party. Maybe. What? No! I can’t pick up milk and eggs! I’m in another blasted Universe! I said, I’m in a – oh, for heaven’s sake. No! You’ll have to get the milk and eggs yourself!

Once again, Agent Rango Mackey finds himself in dutch at home, even though he’s in a far-flung alternate dimension.

(A bit of time-travel humor… so many ways to wander the Cosmos, no matter where or WHO you are!)

All images are mine except the hooded figure in the box, which is stock art from Dabos Stock at Deviant Art.com and the background, “Space Stuff by Fune Stock”: also from Deviant Art.

The 1960’s British call box is a hand-built replica belonging to a cyber-buddy of my husband’s (for some reason, the original is blue!). Nothing here is from the BBC. The chap inside the time-bubble is my cousin Steve (the orb was made with Flexify in CS2). The concept and the characters are mine, from a story I first wrote in 1989 — and if I still had the manuscript it would be much easier to resurrect!

Multiple light-layers are applied.

Yep, I used to do a lot of Dimension Jumping when I was younger. Had to give it up as I kept getting lost. Lol. Brilliant work and very clever, Nadya.

  • I think I got lost and stayed there! lol Hmmm, that may have happened sometime the 60’s. But no, that’s another story! Thanks so much for your comment, Sue!

Good to see, mate, good to see ;-D Love the colour and reflections. Now we just need to see the story, LOL. Cheers!

  • Ooooh, don’t I know it! Advice: NEVER toss manuscripts away!! Especially if they’re not on disk. Oh, wait — lost a bunch of those as well. WAAH! That’s what can happen when you move too much and move too far and move too often! I desperately need a time machine! And/or, a better memory! Well, at least I’m thinking back… or is that forward? Heck, I think I’m lost in space! Glad you like this – thanks again!

  • Thank you, Frank! (Confession: this is an old image done some years ago, but without the light effects. Viva la difference! I am continually amazed at what one can do with that little “layer box” in Photoshop. A tweak here, a tweak there… it was quite Blah in its former state but I rather like it now. Glad you liked it too!
