Close up from “La Casita” (Little House in Baja), one of my miniature creations, in this case inspired by our real home in Baja, Mexico although it’s not a model of the house we had: more like a compilation of the homes of many friends we knew while living there.
It’s also a memory piece, featuring momentos from people, places and events such as the stone table, made from a chunk of ladrillo (brick) from our actual patio. The walls, fireplace and floor are all hand-made as are the books, record-jackets, games and cushions on the couch. I collected all the shells myself, and found the little pottery (approx. 1/4" in size), in Mexico as well.
The dog is Paco who belonged to a friend of mine. The charcoal in the fireplace is real too! But that, I brought from Canada. When you work in “Found Miniatures” (as opposed to purchasing your elements) nearly anything is game.
