Yes, it seemed to have two eyes, possibly a mouth. But no such species was on record. Anywhere! It was a fluke, a freakish aberration sculpted by the forces of the cosmos: stellar winds, magnetic flux, the rain of meteor debris, the geologic stress within the planetoid. Just the suggestion that it might be artificially contrived was sure to set a furor off among the quacks and charlatans who thought that bio-sentience had once existed in the Universe. And no self-respecting scientist would sanction that.

Zeedak said, “It goes on record as a natural rock formation. Nothing more!”

Clevus had some reservations but he kept them to himself. “Roger that!” he said.

    Awesome . . . like an Easter Island head . . . cool creation, Nadya . . .

  • Thanks, Carol! I have found that if I’m out of inspiration, all I need to do is browse through stock at Deviant. Sure enough, something strange comes along and I get back to Photoshop. LOL! This one begged to star in something, had to use it. No idea where it really is (it isn’t really red, it’s brown). Somewhere I have photos of my own of an even stranger sculpture ~ also a giant head ~ but I think they’re on my laptop which is DOA. Oh well. I appreciate your comment! :)

Being that robots do not have self awareness, but do have 3D recognition patterns, they are probably awaiting instructions. Lol. Well, I can be fictitious, too! :-)

  • Thank you for your comment, Pete! Alas ~ I do believe in this story-line, they would wait forever for instructions. Humankind has gone extinct y’see… they are all that’s left. Now, they may LOOK like toys (!) but these are more than merely mechanoids. They’re “Asimovian” in concept ~ autonomous and fully sentient. Ironically, they’re not descendent from the master-robots and the super-cybernetic soldiers Man once engineered (and which led to his downfall over centuries of time). Rather, they can trace their origins to the current craze, mostly in Japan, for robotic pets and talking household appliances. But don’t tell them that! The records have been lost, Earth itself is long destroyed, and belief in homo sapiens is out of fashion altogether. Well, you didn’t read the story so you wouldn’t know that part… seeing as I didn’t get it done yet. LOL! :-)

Terrific work Nadya ~ the face reminds me of the latest episode of Dr Who … ‘The Crimson Horror’ ~ very creative :)

  • ha ha! Thank you, Susie! But I was ahead of them… did this before I saw the Doc. Next week’s looks AWESOME, and I really loved “Hide,” about the time-traveling ghost. Did I know you were a Whovian?? Well I do now. LOL! I appreciate your comment!

Well, nothing exists unless somebody says it does, I guess! Fantastic creation, Nadya!

  • Now, that’s is an interesting philosophy! Sometimes I think if the “officials” say a thing does not exist ~ it probably does! LOL Thanks for your comment, Monnie! Much appreciated!

    Isaac would be proud! :-)

  • Well, I rather wish… I do hate it, when our Icons pass away and he was certainly among The Greats. And I’d hate to think he’d be remembered for the movie version (I, Robot) as it didn’t hold a candle to the book! Or any other book he wrote. No surprise, there! Thank ye kindly, Pete.
