This is my Sweetpea. He was a rescue from the Humane Society. When I adopted him at 8 months old, we were his FIFTH, but last and ‘forever’ home. He has his very own room, along with his companion, Star.

“Make mine chocolate” Easter Campaign

Rabbits are a familiar symbol of the Easter holiday. In the days leading up to it, they appear on television commercials and packages of candy, and stores are filled with stuffed rabbits. It is no surprise that children beg their parents for a bunny of their own. Ill-prepared to care for these unique creatures, their “owners” often quickly tire of them. In the months following Easter, local humane societies and rabbit rescues are flooded with rabbits, former Easter gifts whose “owners” no longer want them. The unlucky ones are dumped outside where predators, cars, illness, and injury virtually guarantee an early death.

He’s beautiful! And your story touched me so as that is how several of our rabbits came to us over the years. All our bunnies have now passed and I miss them most this time of year.
Great capture and a beautiful bun! xo

  • he is such a sweetie, with plenty of ‘goofy’ personality, while my other bun is much more serious. (which makes her entertaining in her own special way LOL) It’s difficult to comprehend why he went through so many homes! Thank you for commenting!

Cute bunny!!! Hope you had a Happy Easter!

  • Thanks he’s such a ham, while the other hides. I tried to get a photo of her on a box she climbed on, and only got her tail and back paws LOL

Sweetpea is a sweetie indeed and I’m sure you give him all the love and attention he so richly deserves, a beautiful portrait and I do like a story with a happy ending,
    Regards, Rod.

  • He is definately sweet (as long as I’m not trying to cut his nails!)
