My first attempt at this type of photography on trees.. I have seen it done so well here, not sure it feels worthy of a post..???

I like this, Ang. It’s a technique I’ve tried a lot with mixed success. Other vertical objects (sailboat masts, tall buildings etc.) can be used as well. The trick is to find the best shutter speed and the proper amount of camera movement. Keep on doing it!

  • Thank you Mike, I appreciate your help. It was still bright and I think it could have used a bit more time open.. next time right?
BTW I received my book yesterday and read a few pages.. looks very interesting! Thank you for suggesting F. Patterson to me :)

Great job Angela…..Soon you will develop your own unique style in this kind od photography…..

  • I hope too.. but I am so eclectic that I don’t think I will ever have one style.. my style is, no style ha ha.. I get bored too easily.

Good effect. the blur makes it so much more about colour than texture. In that sense, it’s painterly

  • Thank you Bruce

Bold color in the vertical trees and placid foreground. An interesting piece. I’ve done hundreds of these and learn something new each time. Keep at it, vary your shutter speeds, apertures, subject matter and ambient light. . . Look and listen to your subject and you will know what to do. Trees do talk . . . ;D

  • Awesome feedback Bill. Thank you.. I will give it a go and see what results come about ..I greatly appreciate your comment.

Very nice image, Angela. Don’t let your lack of experience inhibit you. I few of my best shots were taken when I didn’t know much about what I was doing. The key to good impressionism is to take a lot of photographs and learn from them.

  • Thank you Wayne. I appreciate you kind words :):)
