Violence...

My partner after being knocked out in an unprovoked attack in Surfers Paradise by a random stranger. I treated the image in PS as i was trying to create an image to embody the feeling of “Violence”… I sat in emergency with Brad for 5 hours. An unbelievable three quarters of the people that came in were assult victoms…not only that, but seeing the states these people were in really affected me.

WHEN PEOPLE HURT YOU,
HEAL THEIR SICKNESS OF DISHARMONY BY KINDNESS,
UNDERSTANDING AND TRUTH….
RESENT NO ONE….
BY RESENTING OTHERS WE ONLY BELITTLE OURSELVES.

Why does the world have such nasty people in it, why the hell cant we all just get along. Mel I was shocked to my core when I saw this and how someone can do this to another person.

I hope Brad makes a really quick recovery, please give him my best wishes.

Thanks Lee, i’ll pass it on, poor bugger! I agree…i’ve been contemplating the same thing for a couple of days now….i don’t know how people get to that point you know?.....is it ego, ignorance, or a simple lack of concern or care for others?....i just don’t get it!

Hi Mel, I have been recently bashed and ended up in emergency aswell. I too hate vilolence but belive each and every one of us adds to the energy of the environment with our thoughts , emotions, actions ect.

Whilst my attack was unprovoked aswell it did force me to look deep inside of myself. I have and am still learning so much and believe that for violence to ever stop we must all prioritise being aware to our own internal state of being.

I beleive we are becoming less aware and more private and protective. I do not believe this is going to help us avoid external violence. Only when we are high in self esteem will the violence cycle stop in my opinion.

Wow….and OUCH!!! Thanks to both of you for sharing this amazing image(ugh!), and story. I hope he’s feeling a bit better?? On a lighter side, you can tell him chicks dig scars, lolololol….( I know….my feeble attempt at humor).

Ohh Tony, i hope that you are ok! Such a horrible thing to happen to someone.

Well said though…..Its is so true that we all add to the energy of our environment, energy follows thought, thought creates form etc…..
I too am still learning so much and your right, if we all were more aware of our “inner selves” and gave energy insted of taking/manipulating it, we would vibrate at a higher level and perhaps not attract or contribute to the less positive energy in the world, and even avoid these forms of violence or negetive experiances….

I do believe though that there is a leason in all experiances good or bad. I think Brad has figured out his…

Im reminded of the “Celestine Prophacy”....great book…

I hope you are well…lotsaluv and light to you and thank you for sharing your thoughts xo

    Hi Mel,

Thanks for your concern. My incident was July last year. I didn’t have the operation that was recommended but have found that I have continued to heal both emotionally and physicaly. At first I felt like a victim and was bitter and scared but this passed very quickly.

I have continually realised things that led to the bashing and feel much more confident and stronger in self than I ever have been. Also have come to understand rather than condone the actions of the guy that did it. Can honestly say that the understanding has taken away almost all of the animosity.

I am glad that Brad has figured some things out. Forgot to mention that the pic itself was very powerful. His eyes seemed to portay such deep emotion.

    Best Wishes Tony.

i believe that emotion attracts similar emotion…. fear attracts fear…and what is violence but an act of fear…. the more we project open loving emotions te more we will recieve…...... that being said… i feel sadness that such violent acts have become such common occurances… in many ways humanity is devoving… almost at the same rate others amongs us are rising to a new spiritual plane….. a very large duality is emerging….................b

A very sad story, and a harsh image of what is becoming of our world! Very distressing to think our children are growing up into this harshness. Where i live up in the Adelaide hills seems so far away from the brutality of city or suburban life! I do hope your friend is okay, and i appreciate very much that you have shared this outrage. A truley amazing image and captured superbly.

Mel Spittall in reply to Craig Hender’s comment, about 1 month ago

Thanks very much Craig for your lovely comments…the even sader thing is, that we too live out in the middle of the bush and this night was our first night “out on the town” since having my baby 6months ago…the first time we’d ever been away from her…just out to have fun and this happened!! Needless to sy we won’t be going back there in a hurry :)
