What does a sale mean?

This morning I awoke to an e-mail telling me of my first sale. Whoopee!! Financialy, it wasn’t much, only a card. What has interested me is what it has meant to me; that someone out there is actually interested in my work to spend a bit of hard earned on a little of it. An odd sensation, surely.

When first starting out, the blood pumps with dreams of making a mint. In time, the forums come to catch the eye and those dreams fade in to the background as realisation hits of the shear depth and width of what people are producing.

So when someone actually buys something, it isn’t a case of, “Wow, I’ve just made some money” it is more along the lines of, “Wow, someone out there feels a connection with what I’m producing.” That’s a powerful emotion.
