A long, long week.

Posted over 3 years ago

It has been a long week, shadowing professional photographer Mark Varley as we spent a week camping in Dorset getting up early in the morning to catch the sun rise and staying up until the sun set. Now I have way too many images to work through that I hardly have chance to breathe in order to get it all done before I return to work tomorrow.

Has it really been that long?

Posted over 3 years ago

Since moving house last year, things have been chaotic. I haven’t had the cahnce to do much photography and, as it seems, I haven’t spent much time on Red Bubble either. I found the time to look through the people on my watchlist and take a look at what has been produced of late.

I noticed works that I hadn’t seen before, despite them being up for many months. Have I really b…

The UK is feeling the pinch.

Well, a month long exhibition sold one card. A three day exhibition last week sold three cards. I guess that either my photography sucks, or the UK is definately feeling the pinch. Personally, I hope it’s the latter :-)

A little challenge

Posted almost 4 years ago

I got a call late last week from a photography magazine. They have a readers challenge at the end of April and my name came out of the hat. Well, well. Looks like I’m set to take part. A day in a wildlife park. Should be very interesting; being in a public place and being allowed to use a tripod (usually) which is normally not allowed. I’m quite looking forward to this.

Chaos theory becomes practice

Posted about 4 years ago

Well, it has all hit me these last few weeks. The laptop dies and after my hosting company wanted to cahrge me a small fortune for my hosting, I’ve had to transfer all my hosting and domain names. It is driving me insane. Ah well, at least I should have some peace to look forward to once I’ve got everything under control.

Showing looks like it could pay off

Posted about 4 years ago

The main exhibition of my pictures is in February, but ahead of time I’ve exhibited a few of the pictures at work, in the staff room. I set them up last night and already someone is asking after buying one.

To be truthful, getting the number of works made up and arranging to show them has certainly been hassle so far. I’ve had to do a bit of negotiation and a little bit of business …

Committed to the show

Posted about 4 years ago

I’m scared. I’ve just invested a good deal of money in items to put on show and hopefully sell. My credit card has just taken a hammering and my stomach is churning as a result.

The photographs on show will be the result of about half a years shooting, so in theory if this works well and I keep up the photography, I could run a local exhibition every year.

The house move has been a …

February is comming...

February is comming, and I have to save four hundred pounds to place another order with Red Bubble. They will go on display at a local hall, and I have to arange leaflets promoting my Red Bubble shop and also put out a press release. All this in the midst of buying a house and moving, doing a nine to five and preparing my first film script for sale. I’m booking a bed in the local hospita…

So much to do...

Posted over 4 years ago

I’m still a long way off sorting through the excess of twenty gig of stuff that I shot on holiday last week. I’ve got nearly 4 gig of raws I’ve kept back, I’ve converted the personal shots to 1.3gig of jpegs and there is still 3gig of stuff to get through.

… and I’ve been looking through some of the other artwork that has been added to red bubble while I’…

Home at last.

Posted over 4 years ago

Just got back from the hills and dales. Some interesting animal and landscape shots. Also having a run in with my camera manufacturer.

My friend is still in hospital and the future is still uncertain. Much to do. Much to unpack … more than twenty gig of photos to go through. Good grief.
